Meet Derek
A passionate Ward 10 resident
As a long-time resident of Greater Sudbury living Downtown, Derek embraces his Scottish heritage, acknowledges the stark realities of Downtown Sudbury while staying optimistic and hopeful that change can happen with teamwork.
Over the last 20+ years Derek has built entrepreneurial experience across the private and non-profit sectors — from the entertainment industry (IATSE 634, Little Ray’s Nature Centre, the President’s Choice SuperDogs) to operations manager of the Northern Ontario Railroad Museum and Heritage Centre. He’s served as Director & Marketing Chair for the Downtown Sudbury BIA, President of the Sudbury Arts Council, and on the boards of Theatre Cambrian and Sudbury Indie Cinema.
